Position Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst’s role is to execute business analysis and maintain a Business Analysis (BA) practice to ensure consistency in BA methodology, standards and deliverables and promote best practices in the organization.
They are a senior member within the Project Management Office (PMO) and report directly to the Director of PMO. They are assigned to projects and work with project managers, business unit leaders and technical subject matter experts to define scope, requirements and verify all project deliverables ultimately meet business objectives.
A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability lead the BA effort from preliminary discussions with colleagues through project inception to completion. This individual should possess strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, superior communication skills, and a drive to add unparalleled organizational value.
This position will be based in either Westlake, TX or Richmond, BC. Some travel to other Core-Mark locations, including between Canada and US (<10%) maybe required.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop, establish, and enforce business analysis process standards and deliverables within the organization
Define as-is and to-be processes, perform gap analysis, and devise action plans to close gaps
Monitor process performance (before and after project implementation) and make appropriate recommendations for improvement
Establish and implement effective requirements definition practices, including the use of and continuous improvement of a requirements process
Analyze business issues and challenges and participate in business process and business systems initiatives to improve business performance
Participate in defining solutions to solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems with long-term implications
Participate in the cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes to facilitate management in making implementation decisions
Work closely with business partners to determine requirements and recommendations for solutions based on the analysis of business needs, objectives, and optimal target enterprise architecture
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders leveraging communication and presentation skills
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business and strategic objectives in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management
Provide business analysis support during requirements gathering, solution validation and execution

Business Scenarios and Use Cases
Requirements Traceability Matrix
Functional Specifications
User Interface Specifications
Skills & Experiences:
10+ years of related work experience with business analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and business case development
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
Positive, "can-do" attitude and business/customer focused approach that will enable challenging situations to be dealt with using integrity, empathy, sincerity, and patience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail oriented but also able to see the big picture
Proficient in Project Management (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet) and general business (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) tools
Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA IIBA) or equivalent designation is desirable but not required
