About the Role
The SR Corporate Accountant will be employed within the Finance and Accounting department of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. The position entails preparing the consolidated budget, preparing the quarterly SEC and regulatory reports, managing the financial consolidating process and managing other accounting related processes. This position will also manage a variety of banking or accounting related projects and oversee other accounting staff in the support of the various processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform financial analysis as requested by the Financial Reporting Manager and Chief Accounting Officer.
Independently manage the consolidating closing process including financial reporting of non-bank subsidiaries.
Assist in preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including reports for other department team members.
Oversee and help with the preparation of quarterly external regulatory reports (i.e. 10Q and Call Report).
Independently manage a variety of banking and accounting areas and projects as assigned (i.e. tax provision, fixed assets, leases, budget, etc.)
Manages and trains direct reports including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, disciplining as necessary, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraises performance and provides recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and specific accounting and bank related areas.
Manage assigned areas in the merger and acquisition accounting process.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in banking industry and/or public accounting required.
* Knowledge of financial reporting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required.
* Supervisory experience is preferred.
* Specialized knowledge of SEC and regulatory reporting for banking industry preferred.
* Experience with COGNOS and the Silverlake operating systems of Jack Henry and Associates vendor preferred.
* Bachelor Degree in business with accounting major required.
* CPA certification is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
* Expert use of Microsoft Excel. Ability to quickly learn other software products (e.g. Jack Henry, Power point, COGNOS).
* Proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, applicable State and Federal regulations, primarily those of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Securities and Exchange Commission, the FDIC, and the Federal Reserve Board and applicable association regulations.
* Proficient knowledge of activities of financial institutions and the required accounting treatment, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures of those activities.
* Strong communication skills including verbal and writing skills.
* Strong leadership, teamwork, training, and management skills for staff and committee work.
* Must be self motivated, work quickly and accurately, flexible in day-to-day activities, and able to adapt to changing conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.
