Title Sr. Deal Desk Analyst Overview of Position

The Sr. Deal Desk Analyst is responsible for supporting the Sales and Account Management team with non-standard pricing and terms and conditions. This position is responsible for ensuring enterprise sales approval policy and all processes are followed. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Work closely with Deal Desk leader on contract negotiations to help drive deal decisions by developing dynamic pricing models

  • Provide support for pricing approval process to ensure compliance with all established pricing guidelines for new and existing customers

  • Perform research and reporting to support deal decisions

  • Maintain and update renewal and discount pricing policies, processes, and procedures

  • Provide thought leadership in identifying market opportunities, performing business and competitive analyses, and develop pricing strategies and tactics to pursue identified opportunities

  • Facilitates the product/service pricing process, including: pricing deals, analyzing and modeling pricing components, communicating with Sales, and structuring new products.

  • Support Sales and Account Management users on complex Apttus Configure Price Quote (CPQ) configurations and custom pricing exhibits.

  • Work with Sales and Account Management on non-standard deals to understand opportunity objectives and help translate those objectives into the APTTUS CPQ and the custom pricing exhibit

  • Ensure custom pricing exhibits requests are created using the appropriate process

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on custom quoting and understand, retain, and apply approval and product pricing requirements

  • Conducts ad hoc pricing and financial analyses as needed to support the product management team.

  • Contributes expertise to new product development and pricing automation issues as a stakeholder

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • BS/BA degree from accredited four-year college or university; prefer a major in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or other quantitative field,

  • 5 years of work experience

  • Three plus years of pricing, operations, product management, or consulting experience

  • Demonstrated analytical/quantitative problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of quantitative analysis, finance, and statistics

  • A fundamental understanding of pricing concepts and frameworks

  • Proven ability to independently create, validate, present, and implement ideas

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet pricing goals within established timelines

  • Solid technical skills including advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with SAS, Tableau and/or other statistical/data software

  • Strong attention to detail in analytical assessments; experience in developing and maintaining high quality reports

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • MBA in finance, marketing, or economics, or equivalent experience

  • Healthcare technology experience and demonstrate strong analytical abilities

  • Proven ability to independently create, validate, present, and implement ideas

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet pricing goals within established timelines

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills

  • Knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and financial modeling

  • Ability to present and communicate financial results effectively to a variety of stakeholders

  • Strong business acumen to perform financial, trend and variance analysis, identify cost drivers, and understand services and business strategy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to proactively partner with senior business leaders and interact effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong customer service orientation

  • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to work well under pressure and in an environment of change

  • Knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
