Job Description
Oracle’s Health organization is building healthcare services that operate at high scale in the cloud and interface with healthcare applications. Our customers run their applications on our cloud container platform, and we enable them to create exciting new healthcare applications through deployment automation and helpful deployment tools. We build, monitor and support cloud infrastructure for Oracle Health teams to enable the creation of new healthcare services. We are growing fast, we are still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives for the container platform. We have plans to expand worldwide and serve a wide range of application customers across the Oracle healthcare space.

Detailed Job Description
As a software engineer on the Oracle Healthcare Container Platform team, you will have the opportunity to:
Design, code and implement software tools to deploy services to highly available cloud infrastructure
Evaluate and improve the security of the deployed system
We own the deployment of applications and services, which makes our customers the application teams
Skills in one or more of the following is a must: Container management, Kubernetes, network architecture, scripting languages, application security, and infrastructure
As a team, we automate all our infrastructure build out, our ideal candidate is an SRE that can write object-oriented languages and strives to constantly remove toil.
Utilize a deep understanding of the platform to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations
Try out different parts of the stack, we are encouraging of people to grow a bit beyond their comfort zone so that they can grow to become empathetic technical leaders one day in the future.
Job Responsibilities
Use technologies such as Ruby, Terraform, and Kubernetes to develop reliable and easy to use deployment systems
Learn how to develop on a control plane and data plane
Learn about container services and how to streamline many different applications using different frameworks
Automate tasks to enable CI/CD and ensure continuous availability with minimal human overhead
Working with the team to bring up development and operational pain points and coming up with solutions to solve those pain points
Contribute to product roadmaps by identifying areas of need from the application teams and engaging with stakeholders to scope work and identify timelines
We work closely as a team. We are remote and we believe in mutually learning from each other. Experience with mentoring and collaboration is a must.
Help create and maintain real-world production architectures, scalability, and system design
Define and document technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products
Use a methodical approach to troubleshoot, large, complex, interconnected systems
Participate in on-call rotations to provide optimal support for our mission-critical systems
Strive towards the goal of becoming a leader, whether that’s a technical leader in the contributor track or a people leader in the management track. We have an expectation of self-driven growth from every engineer.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in any one modern language such as Ruby, Java, C++ Strong interest in working with Healthcare without needing to be a SME in healthcare
Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Puppet, Chef, Helm, Terraform, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), CI/CD systems (TeamCity/Jenkins/Spinnaker), Docker, Linux (Oracle Linux/RedHat)
Strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. The key on our team is transparency with our work
Comfort with complex, rapidly evolving software development environments
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Experience with Audits and Compliance
Ability to drive, follow, and evangelize cross-team processes
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Experience using distributed source code management systems such as Git
Experience using ticket tracking systems such as JIRA
Experience working with geographically distributed teams
Experience in startups or fast-paced enterprise technology development environments
Commitment to capturing and maintaining institutional knowledge through documentation

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the United States only
Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
