We are seeking experienced, hands-on senior/lead software engineers to join a world class team of highly motivated software engineers and infrastructure experts. Your charter will be to deliver high quality infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public and private cloud.

Salesforce recently embarked on a major undertaking to move all its applications and services to the public cloud data centers. You can read more about our Hyperforce platform here:

https://www.salesforce.com/products/platform/hyperforce/ .

The Salesforce Continuous Delivery team is at the forefront of this revolution. We help thousands of Salesforce developers to manage and deploy cloud native services rapidly and safely across multiple cloud providers - AWS, GCP, Azure, etc., using Spinnaker.

We are growing rapidly as we expand on our regional footprints, environments and user base. We are constantly looking for innovative ways to meet the growing needs of our developers and simplify developer experience. As our next big initiative, we are working on a new declarative delivery model that abstracts the complexity of the tooling and provide an intuitive way for our users to interface with our systems. This means our systems have to be smart enough to recognize everything in order to translate the intent properly, graceful enough to understand complex service relationships, and fast enough to sift through giga bytes of data. And all of this needs to happen at web scale, for all our customers ( 30k+ developers), within minutes.

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a greenfield development effort where you will be building something new and critical for Salesforce, defining standards and evangelizing them with internal customers and the broader Spinnaker community, and contribute back to open source.

Our current stack includes Python, GoLang, AWS Aurora DB, Elastic cache, and Kubernetes in AWS.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Computer science or equivalent practical experience

  • 8+ years of experience.

  • Experience in any programming language, python or golang experience preferred.

  • Experiencing designing and implementing high-scale distributed systems.

  • Understanding of scaling, availability and operational concerns for large systems.

  • Experience with deploying and managing production services using any public cloud provider.

  • A strong background in using and contributing to open source technology.

  • Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, etc.

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform.

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm chart, and CI/CD tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Should be able to take a vision, translate it to a design and plan and drive execution to completion.

  • Completely own and implement features from start to finish.

  • Should appreciate the value of clean code, believe in refactoring, and writing tests.

  • Provide thought leadership and continually look for opportunities to improve the application.

  • Research and implement new technologies.

  • Mentor/lead more junior engineers.
