Job Description Summary:

The Vice President, Product, Solutions and Customer Retention Marketing will use leadership skills, technical knowledge, strong business acumen, and inputs from a cross-functional global team to support a range of activities, from defining customer needs, evaluating the competitive landscape and market trends, engaging industry analysts, developing messaging and positioning, and providing the base content for marketing programs and campaigns. They will interface regularly with engineering, sales, product management, customer success, renewals sales teams, the integrated marketing functions, and business leadership to develop strategic market plans, GTM interlock across departments to prioritize and align outcomes to key business objectives across all Rocket Software business units.

The right candidate is a strong leader with deep industry expertise, and self-motivated individual, who can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment. They must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel. This professional must demonstrate strong leadership and management skills and be able to gain credibility with team members and senior management, including the CEO. This is a Senior Director level role, reporting directly to the CMO, and will have a team of Solution, Product and Customer Retention Marketers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • The Vice President, Solutions, Product, and Customer Retention Marketing, will synthesize business objectives, product roadmaps, market analysis, and customer needs into easy-to-understand messages and value propositions and market plans.

  • Deliver overall Why Rocket messaging strategy aligned to agreed upon solutions

  • The person in this role should be a creative technical marketing professional skilled in storytelling with strong knowledge of and experience in the marketing and sales technology stack.

  • Drive an audience-centric marketing approach within the organization, ensuring that messaging, content and campaign strategies are centered around the customer buying needs

  • Understand customer and partner pains and opportunities and be a market / customer advocate

  • Interact with customers and partners to gain perspective on how our solutions and products are being used

  • Frame market segmentation and targeting to define market opportunities

  • Build business cases for expanding market presence

  • Partner with Sales, Retention Sales, Customer Success, and Sales Enablement to help progress pipeline opportunities and enable successful client-facing conversations with successful demand generation.

  • Create positioning, value propositions and messaging that resonates with the buying audience, both at the product, solution and theme level

  • Collaborate with integrated Marketing teams to develop campaign plans (new logo and retention), including content and messaging documents aligned to business growth objectives

  • Develop competitive positioning; perform competitive analysis

  • Guide the development of customer retention marketing programs and collaborate across teams to amplify the voice of customer through, customer references and case studies, testimonials, speaking engagements, and identify thought leadership opportunities

  • Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to guide the marketing team related to solutions and products

  • Participate in due diligence and integration activities for potential acquisition targets

  • Participate in systematic engagement with Industry Analysts, including managing subscriptions, leading inquiry sessions to influence the analysts, and leading engagement for customized thought leadership content efforts

  • The individual in this role will demonstrate a strong understanding of customers’ and partners’ needs and keep current with industry trends specific to customer experience.

  • This person will have a proven track record of leading and completing complex cross-border integration efforts within the technology or software industry.

  • This individual must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously, "roll up the sleeves", natural problem solver, collaborative, and not fazed by adversity or ambiguity.

  • Expertise with marketing B2B applications

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Sales, Business Development/Pricing, Product Management, and Marketing

  • Plan, execute, and lead successful product launches

  • Strategic thinker, creative problem solver and strong analytical skills

  • Influencing and communicating product offers to customers, prospects, sales, industry analysts and trade press


  • 15+ years of related product or solutions marketing experience

  • Experience with Product Marketing approaches and best practices

  • Experience with a rapidly scaling technology/software business

  • Experience in team/people management

The base salary range for this role is $223,198.00 - $278,997.50 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
