The Role at a Glance:

As the VP of Strategic Partnerships, Vendor & Platform Management, you will provide thought leadership, strategy and execution of our strategic product partnerships and vendor management program working with key stakeholders in Product and Platform. This role will require collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with Enterprise Platforms while leading vendor relationships. What you'll be doing:

  • Leads the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization.

  • Leads and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.

  • Provides highly specialized expertise and thought leadership to internal/external stakeholders.

  • Contributes to business unit/operational and enterprise strategy creation.

  • Builds organizational capability.

  • Leads/executes approved strategy.

  • Partners with existing strategic partners to improve and grow the current relationships and explore additional distribution opportunities.

  • Seeks out emerging partners and takes advantage of the growing number of digital mediums that the new consumer partners use to manage financial resources.

  • Partners with Life New Frontier and the Annuity innovation team on product design and pricing strategies that appeal to a new and broader set of consumers.

  • Balances mid and long-term horizon growth with strategic ideas, including “offshoot” business, new product categories, and white label opportunities.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders in strategizing and executing on the mandate, and to drive forward existing and emerging ventures and partners. These stakeholders include distribution and manufacturing teams, Marketing, IT, Finance, and Communications.

  • Leads the development of agile processes to bring new solutions to market, implement a test & learn framework to improve outcomes as needed.

  • Partners and advises executive management and key senior business leaders on strategic and innovative approaches which enhance and maintain the competitive position of their assigned area(s) of responsibility in the marketplace.

  • Provides thought leadership for complex strategic initiatives that support medium-term and long-term growth and profitability.

  • Oversees the innovation and project/initiative communications to ensure understanding by all key stakeholders.

  • Strategic Partner Management will become a critical role as we invest and build our Asset Management Platform and look to increase LFN’s AUM as well as expand Vendors throughout LFN to deliver high quality resources to our best financial professionals.

  • Works closely with our new Leader in FinTech Solutions as well as our new Leader in Planning Innovation, this role will be focused on Integration of our Product Partners and Platform partners ensuring the seamless integration of new tools and resources.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.

  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.

  • Performs other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

  • 12+ Years of experience in Strategic planning that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 5+ years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.

  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives for their assigned area(s) of responsibility

  • Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Evaluate trends in data or information.

  • Ability to effectively resolve difficult disputes and business challenges using highly refined functional, partnering and leadership skills.

  • Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situations.

  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.

  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

  • Understands the interdependencies of how people and organizations function, and can negotiate through complex political situations effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience as a thought leader. Will be able to demonstrate being sought after for advice, counsel, and judgment.
