Flathead LakeStatePark consists ofsixuniquepark units locatedaround Flathead Lake,thelargestfreshwater lake west ofthe Mississippi. The park units on theeastside are Wayfarers, Yellow Bay andFinley Point andthe west side units are West Shore, Big Arm and Wild Horse Island. Inadditionto boating, swimmingand fishing,each park unit offers unique experiencesincluding camping, rental picnic shelters, group camping, hiking, sightseeing,picnicking, and wildlife viewingopportunities. This position isbasedinthe Flathead Lake Ranger Station locatedintheWayfarersUnitofFlathead lakeState Park.Thisis aseasonalpositionthat will work part-time from late April throughSeptemberannually. Withtime potentially extendingintoOctoberorearlyAprilwithlesshours.Thisposition willworkSaturday,Sunday andWednesday.Some physical laboris required; must be able to lift30lbs.Themajorityof work issedentaryandisperformedinan office environment. Theposition may require some travelandparticipation in meetings. Ability to understandand effectivelyexplainPark,ParksDivision/and/Departmentpoliciesandregulationstothegeneralpublic.Abilitytousetact, courtesy, poise, alertness andgoodjudgmentinpubliccontacts. Thosewhoadvancetothesecondstage of thisprocesswillbeaskedlocompleteonlineproficiencyandaptitude testsfocusing oncustomer service andcomputerskills. JobDuties: This part-time position isresponsible for providingadministrativesupport to management andsupervisory staff at FlatheadLakeSlatePark.Thepositionalsoprovides customer servicethroughphoneandin-personcontactsatthe FlatheadLakeRanger StationlocatedwithintheWayfarersUnitofflatheadLakeStatePark.Assuch,thispositionisresponsiblefor staffingthe frontdeskoftheRangerStation,maintainingtheorganization andcleanliness oftheRangerStation and its restrooms. Theadministrativeduties of thisposition include the following:processing billpayments, trackingexpenditures,processing park revenue, dosingthe cashregister daily, creatingbank deposits andtransporting tothebank,processingbank deposits brought fromotherparkunits,processing facility rentals andspecialusepermits,maintainingelectronicandpaperfilesystems,coordinatessupplyand merchandiseorders,andorganizingvolunteeruniformsandpaperwork. Customer serviceisaprimary jobdutyofthisposition.Assuch, theincumbent isexpected to provide excellent customerservicewhileperformingthefollowingduties:providingwrittenandverbalinformationtovisitors,responding toparkemailsandphonemessages,operatingthecampgroundreservationprogram,aidingrecreationtechniciansin the operation ofthereservation program, andstaffingthe WayfarersEntranceStation.When workinginthispositionthe incumbentmustquicklygain asoundworking knowledge ofPark,ParksDivisionandDepartment policiesand procedures, andanin-depth understanding of the area's tourist attractions. *Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):_* The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and at least 1 year of job-related experience.
