Kalispell Regional Healthcare Cardiac Sonographer I in Kalispell, Montana
Works independently under the supervision of the Echo Lab Supervisor and Cardiologists in an on site or outreach setting. Performs a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures. Provides care to adult patients.
*Accurately and efficiently performs adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures as outlined by department procedures and exam protocols.
*Obtains patient history, describes and responds to questions, and informs patient of when to expect results of the echocardiogram.
*Accountable for organizational and department policies and procedures.
*Provides images, data analysis and patient comments to the Cardiologist for diagnostic interpretation.
*Assists the Cardiologist with Transesophageal Echocardiography in an outpatient and inpatient setting (Including EP/Cath Lab and Structural Heart).
*Stays current on training and continuing education.
*Maintains equipment and coordinates repairs and service as needed.
*Assists with administrative duties as needed, triages incoming phone calls, and performs daily EMR report verification.
*Participates in required QI on a quarterly basis.
Graduate of an accredited school of Non-Invasive Cardiac Ultrasound required. ARDMS Registry in Adult Echocardiography or must be registry eligible. Must successfully obtain ARDMS Registry within one (1) year of hire
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Adult Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of ASE guidelines for the appropriate use of contrast for echo required.
HCP BLS preferred or must successfully obtain within 90 days of hire.
Valid Montana Driver’s License required. Must be 21 years of age, have a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.).
Possess knowledge and experience in all adult cardiac echo procedures. Possess comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics. 3D Echo and structural heart experience preferred.
Capable of multi-tasking to maintain daily patient workload, i.e., STAT Echocardiograms, add-on procedures, etc. Possess ability to adapt to frequent schedule changes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Self-starter, possess organizational skills, and ability to perform independently, as well as within a team.
