Kalispell Regional Healthcare Centralized Staffing Coordinator in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

Coordinates, analyzes, and reports data related to daily staffing patterns and ratios.

Responsibilities

  1. *Analyzes data trends, abstracts data, and creates timely reports and recommendations to the leadership team.

  2. *Coordinates, creates and participates in the training, implementation and maintenance of computer system programs per department protocol.

  3. *Acts as the primary resource for staffing & scheduling system. Provides professional support to nursing units within KRH.

  4. *Coordinates and oversees supplies and equipment specific to the department.

  5. *Provides expertise and oversight of staffing patterns, skill mix, and staffing ratios. Maintains records and statistics in an effort to improve continuity and increase efficiency.

  6. *Analyzes and develops reporting tools and metrics and creates methods for continuous tracking of sick calls, staff turnover, etc..

  7. *Accurately assists with the development, preparation and maintenance of 6-week staffing schedules for assigned nursing units. Collaborates with leadership to determine schedule period and daily unit staffing needs.

  8. *Works with leadership to set work priorities and respond to changing workload needs. Exhibits excellent communication skills and professional interactions with all. Functions in an advisory role to the nursing leadership team.

  9. *Adjusts staffing to accommodate changing patient census and acuity for each unit. Exhibits cost containment with all resources.

  10. *Adheres to and upholds KRH customer service policies and standards.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of one (1) of the following required:

a. Related coursework beyond high school

b. Experience in a healthcare environment

c. Experience working with complex administrative support tasks

  1. Inpatient staffing & scheduling experience preferred.

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  3. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  4. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as required. API Staffing & Scheduling and Meditech experience preferred.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
