Logan Health Certified Polysomnographic Technician in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Current credentialing in sleep technology (RPSGT /or RRT-SDS) required.

  • Associate’s degree in polysomnography, science or medicine preferred.

  • HealthCare CPR preferred and must be successfully obtained within three (3) months of hire.

  • Possess ability to interpret, adapt and apply required guidelines and protocols for adult and pediatric patients required.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.

  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, and direct patient education.

  • Gathers, analyzes and verifies patient’s records, medical history and orders. Accurately documents according to department protocol.

  • Incorporates population specific needs into all aspects of communication, patient care and education.

  • Accurately performs Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) and Polysomnography (PSG) according to department procedure and protocols.

  • Performs routine equipment care, maintenance and inventory evaluations accurately, effectively and efficiently.

  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, industry standards and Logan Health policies and procedures, regarding standard of care, safety and infection control.

  • Exhibits strong clinical skills, judgment, and problem-solving within the scope of practice.

  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks per department procedure and protocol.

  • Mentors and coaches staff technologists on protocol and policy.

  • Tracks all patients as a requirement of the AASM QA program.

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues per department protocol.

  • Scores sleep studies per department procedure.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Night Shift - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
