Logan Health Polysomnographic Technologist Trainee in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

Under RPSGT, RRT-SDS, CPSGT, or RRT direct onsite supervision, this position provides evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists requirements for CPSGT or RPSGT exam required.

  • Credentialing in sleep technology CPSGT or RPSGT obtained within six (6) months of hire required.

  • Possess ability to interpret, adapt, and apply required guidelines and protocols for adult and pediatric patients required.

  • HealthCare CPR preferred and must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Provides evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under RPSGT, RRT-SDS, CPSGT, or RRT direct onsite supervision to include the following:

  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, and direct patient education.

  • Gathers, analyzes, and verifies patient’s records, medical history, and orders. Accurately documents according to department protocol.

  • Incorporates population specific needs into all aspects of communication, patient care, and education.

  • Accurately performs Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) and Polysomnography (PSG) according to department procedure and protocol.

  • Scores sleep studies per department procedure.

  • Performs routine equipment care, maintenance, and inventory evaluations accurately, effectively, and efficiently.

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues per department protocol.

  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, industry standards and Logan Health policies and procedures, regarding standard of care, safety, and infection control.

  • Exhibits strong clinical skills, judgment, and problem-solving within the scope of practice.

  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks per department procedure and protocol.

  • Tracks all patients as a requirement of the AASM QA program.

Night Shift - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
