Kalispell Regional Healthcare Department Assistant - BH Business Office in Kalispell, Montana
Provides customer service and administrative support within the Long Term Care and Transitional Care Units. Supports the health care team by entering computerized orders, maintaining paper charts, assists with staffing coordination, and completing admission specific duties. This position serves all residents, family members, visitors, employees, and the facility.
*Performs administrative duties in an organized and accurate manner according to facility policies and procedures. Consistently sets priorities resulting in the units functioning in an efficient and orderly manner.
*Prepares admission electronic and paper clinical records.
*Maintains accurate patient/resident clinical records and files any paper reports or documents received in a timely manner.
*Transcribes provider orders and/or enters orders into Meditech. Completes essential administrative patient care functions as needed.
*Completes timekeeping duties and staffing reports utilizing attendance system per organizational guidelines.
*Assists in coordination of staffing for the nursing department. Assists with daily schedules, low census, and communication.
*Assists in the balancing of daily census reports.
*Assists the healthcare team in maintaining unit/department function. These job functions include, but are not limited to; restocking of forms and supplies at nursing station, answers phone, interacts with the public, delivers mail and maintains the equipment at nursing station and office. Responsible for scheduling meetings, to include reserving an appropriate meeting space.
*Collects and posts payments received from patients and provides receipts as appropriate.
*Assists the healthcare teams in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards by ensuring Level 1/PASSAR screens are complete. Ensures the proper documentation is submitted for overnight passes for Medicaid residents.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of record keeping, documentation, filing, and basic office procedures required.
Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess ability to set priorities and function as part of a team. Must use good judgement, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other software as needed. Previous experience with electronic medical record (EMR) programs preferred.
Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
