44

SALARY:
$45,000 to $ 47,000 annually depending on experience, full-time, benefits eligible

SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Specialist plays a key role in Flathead Valley Community College’s (FVCC) online presence and growth by creating, implementing, optimizing and reporting on marketing strategies. The Specialist manages timelines, creative requests and campaign launches across all paid media. This Specialist is heavily involved in implementing campaigns that create brand awareness, increased site traffic, generates qualified leads, and retains customers to promote institutional advancement and brand objectives. The Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategies that integrate best practices in email marketing, user experience, search engine optimization, analytics tracking and reporting, copywriting for the web, social medial marketing and paid ads for search and social media.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Oversees College’s digital marketing and communications in coordination with campus-wide marketing and communications plans and priorities
Develops and implements digital marketing strategy for the College’s core audiences and continually evaluates its effectiveness
Works with College executive team, faculty and staff to develop digital content to convey the distinctive strengths and opportunities available through individual academic programs
Develops and recommends engaging and dynamic social media strategies; produces relevant content for social medial sites; ensures all social media platforms are timely updated and maintained consistently to maintain a positive online presences
Builds and maintains a digital community through social media channels, blogs, email and the web, and ensures social media and video marketing content is consistent with College’s brand, style, voice and community, and ensures all content is consistent with college messaging, best practices, policies, and procedures
Analyzes and presents recommendations on content performance, including emails, social media, and digital advertising
Develops and executes email marketing strategy
Develops website strategies based on ongoing Search Engine Optimization (SEO), builds and publishes web pages based on user experience (UX), and assists in maintaining web content
Supports and monitors day-to-day project details for paid media and marketing efforts
Implements a data dashboard and tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPI) to assess effectiveness of College’s social medial campaigns and digital marketing efforts
Performs competitive landscape research and market research based on search volume
Establishes lead generation and manages end-to-end customer acquisition funnel
Develops and provides guidance to College departments and uses on the appropriate and effective use of social media assess effectiveness of social media and marketing campaigns
Supervises social media intern and student employee(s)
Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality student recruitment
Promotes, encourages, and executes programs of continuous assessment and benchmarking of goals, programs, and services and communicates the results
Fosters cooperative relationships with schools, community groups and other external agencies to enhance and promote the College
Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies
Assists and collaborates with staff on projects or events as needed
Serves as a member on various college committees or teams
Performs other duties as assigned
Reports to Executive Director of Communications and Marketing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in closely related field AND two years of progressive digital marketing and communication experience, OR
Associate’s degree in closely related field, with four years of progressive digital marketing and communication experience, OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience in social media content creation, website maintenance, web content, and/or working in a dynamic digital environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, digital media, or computer science
Three or more years of experience in social media content creation, website maintenance, web content, and/or working in a dynamic digital environment
Experience in higher education digital marketing
Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or other web analytics platforms
Experience with basic knowledge of WordPress, HTML & CSS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong project management skills in deadline-driven environment with competing priorities
Knowledge and familiarity with a variety of existing and emerging advertising and communications opportunities across web, email, and social media platforms (including analytics-driven content development, maintenance, and management)
Ability to exercise careful, articulate use of language as a web and media representative of a public institution
Best practices in social media usage and planning
Experience using marketing automation software to nurture prospects through the marketing funnel from initial interest to enrollment
Experience using web content management systems (CMS) to create, edit and optimize web marketing and product content, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
Demonstrated writing skills, including the ability to communicate about a variety of subjects to diverse audiences on multiple platforms, including search-optimized titles and copy for course descriptions
Excellent communication, verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills
Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, meet deadlines, and prioritize
Ability to exercise strong judgment, strong analysis, problem solving skills

This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
