Logan Health Lead Child Care Provider in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

Serves in a Lead role and provides age specific quality childcare services as applicable to assigned area(s).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the below requirements:

  • Associates degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

  • Two (2) years of equivalent experience may substitute for one (1) year of education.

  • Montana state-required early childhood training classes successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire required.

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential successfully obtained within one (1) year of hire required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a licensed childcare required.

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification as applicable to assigned area(s) successfully obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.

  • Minimum of one (1) year leadership experience preferred.

  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, nurturing, patient, comforting, creative, responsive, compassionate, flexible, encouraging, and culturally sensitive and aware.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Ensures a safe and healthy environment at all times by monitoring child areas for hazards or sanitation problems and corrects problems per department protocol as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Provides required adult supervision for all children at all times.

  • Provides a stimulating, cognitively challenging classroom environment that encourages exploration and experimentation for children of varying ability levels and ages as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Exhibits an understanding of Montana state daycare licensure requirements as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Accurately and efficiently completes all documentation assignments as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Provides experience and training to help children develop and practice good health/safety, healthy nutrition, and exercise habits as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Assists in preparing, planning and implementing of age appropriate learning experiences indoors and outside as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Proactively performs duties that enhance the environment as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Respects cultural diversity and diversity of physical abilities of children as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Professionally and respectfully interacts with children, family members and staff.

  • Practices team member etiquette, offers assistance, mentors new staff, contributes positive ideas to enhance workflow, etc.

  • Assists with administrative tasks per department procedure and as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Exhibits the ability to be flexible and organized while functioning calmly and efficiently in a changing environment.

  • Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:

  • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.

  • Trains or coordinates the training of employees.

  • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.

  • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.

  • Assists in interviewing job candidates.

  • Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Day Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Schedule:

A flexible work schedule is required including holidays, overtime, weekend assignments, with the potential for assignments to alternative shifts.
