Kalispell Regional Healthcare Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified - Brendan House in Kalispell, Montana


Responsible for providing quality Occupational therapy services under the guidelines set by the state practice guidelines, Medicare and KRH policies. Meets legal, ethical and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the department organization


  1. *Assists with implementation and follow through of individualized treatment plans as set forth by the supervising Occupational therapist. Adapts and progresses program as appropriate to achieve goals and expected outcom2. *Performs daily charting to reflect therapy units billed and time frames.

  2. *Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan, supervise and delegate to provide services in a competent and efficient manner. Willing to instruct therapy aides, assistant students, and other staff members.

  3. *Performs patient treatments according to established therapy standards and department policies and procedures.

  4. *Performs necessary technical skills as delineated by education and experience and as evaluated in the organizations Clinical Competency Checklist.

  5. *Ability to successfully complete a discipline specific clinical competency checklist.

  6. *Responds to changing workloads and patient conditions in a positive and professional manner by: remaining calm, making objective assessments, prioritizing, and asking for assistance.

  7. *Enhances rehabilitation services by participating in projects within the department, the facility and th community.

  8. *Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, Private Insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for Occupational therapy.

  9. *Ability to travel to outreach clinic sites to perform therapy services as needed.


  1. Graduate of a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

  2. Eligibility for license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Montana is required. License must be obtained within 90 days of employment or the first opportunity to sit for the test.

  3. Minimum three (3) years' experience as a COTA preferred.

  4. Current HS AED CPR certification required. Ability to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members and patients. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
