An office assistant is an employee taking an office or administrative support position. They cover many areas of work to assist the businesses they work for, including setting appointments, filing, record keeping, and other office tasks.Responsibilities:Take incoming calls, messages, and direct them to the right department/personnel.Direct incoming calls to appropriate departments and personnel for correct answersMake signs, folders and labels.Make sure that clients sign in before directing them to departments or to personnel.Keep surrounding area clean by vacuuming and dusting.Keep all Clients Information Confidential and Secure. Special Skills Required: Must demonstrate compassion and non-judgment towards clients. Must be time oriented.Must have the ability to write legibly.Able to sit for a long periodAbility to multitask. Able to take initiative to complete various tasks without supervision. Must be able to communicate with fellow volunteers, staff, and clients.Time commitment: Requires 4hrs to 6hrs a day commitment. Schedules can be accommodated for weekly, monthly or project based commitments. Taking an integral role in the direct service of a non-profit organization ?in the trenches.?Developing a greater understanding of the role and mission of NW Montana Veterans Stand Down and Food Pantry and its programs.Training: Orientation covering emergency procedures, NWMTVFP rules and program regulations, resource management, and facility tour.
