Kalispell Regional Healthcare Practice Supervisor - Northwest Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

This position supervises front office team members to ensure efficient and smooth operations and workflow. Ensures timely, accurate record keeping of patient encounters and provides excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  1. *Accurately performs collection duties related to all insurance accounts including insurance copays.

  2. *Ensures accounts are brought to resolution in a timely manner utilizing current reimbursement rules and regulations of third party payers and general coding practices.

  3. *Assists with coding of daily charges and surgery charges as needed. Efficiently quotes surgery costs.

  4. *Acts as a patient relations advocate by responding to patient inquiries.

  5. *Processes a variety of medical reports and correspondence as required. Consistently follows set routines and is alert to variations and makes decisions accordingly.

  6. *Informs, educates and coordinates with other Revenue Cycle and Clinical Operations staff regarding coding, front office procedures, patient information, and charge capture process for facility encounters.

  7. *Under the direction of the Practice Manager, supervises and provides daily oversight of the administrative staff. Upon approval of Leadership, may assist with the hiring process and preparation and delivery of evaluations and corrective actions.

  8. *Responsible for the day to day operations, training, development, and scheduling of administrative staff.

  9. *Institutes and monitors procedures to ensure communication between the practice and the patient regarding financial issues, Federal HIPPA regulations, and medical information.

  10. *Delegates and schedules administrative staff work flow as required to ensure work and projects are completed in a timely manner.

  11. *Acts in a leadership capacity in the Manager’s absence with dignity and respect for all involved.

  12. *Assists Manager in the delivery of administrative staff education and training to ensure accurate and thorough information gathering.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a medical office, clinic or other health care setting required.

  2. Minimum of one (1) year medical office supervising or leadership preferred.

  3. Medical office background with knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid, and other contracted services, collection policies and procedures.

  4. Knowledge of computer billing and willingness to learn new software programs.

  5. Must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must maintain cooperative relationships with staff members, patients and providers.

  6. Experience with the accurate use ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes preferred.

  7. Proven experience of keeping accurate records, well organized and exercise team coordination skills.

  8. Knowledge of financial requirements as they relate to practice operations.
