Immanuel Lutheran Communities RN Resident Care Manager - Memory Care in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description

Lead all programs related to memory support for Immanuel Living. Develop a branded training curriculum and resident program that can be implemented at any location. Provide professional leadership, professional nursing care and clinical oversight to the patient/resident direct care team. The leadership shall be rendered in an effective manner that is consistent and aligned with the (a) core values, mission, ethics and the Immanuel Spirit of Immanuel Living, (b) the policies and procedures of Immanuel Living/ Assisted Living Memory Care and (c) standards of care and regulations per regulatory agencies.

    Job Specific Duties

  • Be the organizational resource on Alzheimer’s and other related Diseases.

  • Demonstrate cost containment with all resources.

  • Exhibit a demonstrated commitment to the mission and Immanuel Spirit of Immanuel Living.

  • Develop training curriculum and provide training for all team members to ensure they can provide compassionate service with confidence and expertise to those living with memory loss and their family members.

  • Provide training to other Immanuel team members as requested.

  • Provide oversight of the nursing staff and patient/resident care including staffing, orientation, education, policy/process compliance and overall quality of patient/resident interaction and care.

  • Create an environment of collaboration and mentorship. Director is expected to adjust schedule to include periodic night shift presence. Director will also support/assume nursing duties in extreme need situation or as operationally required.

  • Support customer service guidelines by developing patient/resident and family relations, supporting the care team to provide exemplary customer service and demonstrating proactive service recovery.

  • Initiate and coordinate processes that will maximize reimbursement and assure compliance with federal and state guidelines. ARDs optimize the PDPM System. Facilitates and/or participates in weekly Utilization Review meetings and monthly triple check.

  • Adhere to State and Federal rules and regulations concerning delivery of resident care and assure that nursing services are provided and documented accordingly.

  • Evaluate nursing care delivery by administering resident care audits and perform focused rounds in the unit/facility to ensure that the safety, comfort and needs of patients/residents and families are provided in a timely, courteous and professional manner. Maintain a visible and participatory presence on the unit and address needs or concerns in a timely manner.

  • Participate in the development and concurrent review of policies and procedures.

  • Monitor unit productivity standards, low census needs

  • Maintain adherence of nursing practice on the unit according to the Montana State Nurse Practice Act, the State Board of Nursing regulations, the regulatory standards governing Immanuel Living and the application of the standards to the policies and procedures.

  • Participate in the safety, quality, and risk management programs to improve structure, process and outcomes of care. Participate in organizational committees/task forces as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Current unencumbered Montana RN License.

  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred, but not required.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership role. A minimum of 3 years memory care experience. Will consider combinations of experience and education.

  • Possess knowledge of the health care environment, regulations, and care delivery systems as they apply to the clinical practices on the unit.

  • Ability to employ critical thinking skills, decision making and professional judgment.

  • Experience with nursing information systems

    Essential Physical and Mental Requirements

  • The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, as position operates potentially hazardous equipment and handles and dispenses prescribed medication.

  • The incumbent must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time and/or deadline pressures.

  • Required vision abilities include close up and distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
