Kalispell Regional Healthcare RN Staff Development Educator - CNA Education Program in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

RN Staff Development Educator - CNA Education Program is responsible for designing, implementing and providing oversight of Kalispell Regional Healthcare’s (KRH) Programs below. Develops and coordinates a comprehensive plan which reflects and supports the KRH mission, values and strategic plan, national and state practice standards and regulatory recommendations.

The CNA Program Educator works collaboratively with Director of Education and Brendan House Director of Nursing to coordinate and teach new CNA training programs, CNA onboarding, and CNA competencies.

Responsibilities

  1. *Primarily responsible for coordinating all activities related to the assigned clinical programs. Assists clinical staff to acquire, maintain, and/or expand unit-specific competence in clinical procedures, equipment operation, patient education, and/or documentation.

  2. *Exhibits specialized knowledge of the assigned specialty area. Performs formal needs assessments, gap analysis and collects other pertinent information to identify priority needs and outcomes. Plans and develops strategies to foster critical thinking and meets identified needs and desired outcomes.

  3. *Implements courses, tools, and resources to carry out strategic plans. Teaches and trains using principles of learning and effective methodologies.

  4. *Evaluates actual outcomes and program effectiveness in relation to desired outcomes.

  5. *Serves as a catalyst for change within organization by facilitating initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.

  6. *Assumes formal/informal consultant role by assisting individuals and groups with input feedback solutions, and learning integration.

  7. *Exhibits leadership behaviors by supporting and collaborating with organization and administrative structures. Oversees resources to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

  8. *Utilizes evidence to support change and educates others toward a culture of evidence based practice.

  9. *Maintains n program documentation and records/files in accordance with organization policy and regulatory expectations.

  11. *Administers the written and skills exams in accordance with DPHHS/Headmaster requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Current Montana RN license or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana required

  2. Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) and Headmaster LLP clinical instructor status eligible and must be successfully approved by DPHHS within sixty (60) days of hire.

  3. BSN preferred. Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

  4. Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing experience required with a minimum of one (1) year in long term care services.

  5. Minimum of five (5) years’ of clinical nursing experience preferred.

  6. Minimum of three (3) years teaching and/or leadership experience preferred

  7. Certification in related specialty and/or related program area, and/or Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.

  8. Possess exemplary communication, collaboration and customer service skills. Time management skills required to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  9. Demonstrated success in consultation, leadership and the ability to serve as a catalyst for change.

  10. Possess ability to take initiative, exercise independent judgment, problem solve and make appropriate decisions in a timely fashion. Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, staff, patients, public and external agencies to achieve department and organization mission, goals and objectives.
