Job Description Summary:
This position supervises and coordinates assigned staff and activities to ensure quality service and care throughout assigned area(s). Works closely with leadership regarding operations and continuous quality improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of one (1) year leadership experience required. Leadership experience in a related position preferred.

Job Specific Duties:
Supervises the day-to-day operations, training and development, and coordinates work schedules as applicable to assigned area(s).
Supports front office education, improvement, and safety of practices.
Supervises the patient experience, immediate service recovery, transparency, responds appropriately to questions, and concerns per department protocol as applicable to assigned area.
Assists leadership with the hiring process, preparation and delivery of evaluations and corrective actions as applicable to assigned area(s).
Monitors procedures to ensure communication between the practice and the patient regarding financial issues, Federal HIPPA regulations, and medical information as applicable to assigned area(s).
As applicable to assigned area(s): Monitors appropriate A/R indicators, billing, collection queues and selected account reports; routinely audits payment and adjustment postings for compliance regulations per department protocol; supervises the billing and collection operations to ensure consistent application of policies and practices.
Responsible for the support and maintenance of computer applications and facilitates coordination between system users and HIT as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assists with preparation of reporting tasks per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
Actively assists in the evaluation, development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures as applicable to assigned area(s).
As applicable to assigned area(s): Acts as resource for billing procedures of third party and private insurance payers and government regulations; ensures timely and accurate billing and collecting practices; performs audits; analyzes, creates and reports key operational indicators and statistics to assigned leadership; ensures productivity and compliance to Logan Health policies; serves as subject matter expert on complex issues ensuring proper financial and patient outcomes.
Assists leadership in setting annual goals for the department and departmental operations and budgets; strives to implement procedures and processes to increase revenue as applicable to assigned area(s).
Maintains a working knowledge of assigned staff functions to assure efficient back up coverage as needed as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assures timely and accurate data entry of billing, collections and scheduling data. Conducts periodic audits of data entry to assure consistency and accuracy.
Accurately performs collection duties related to all insurance accounts including insurance copays as applicable to assigned area(s).
Ensures accounts are brought to resolution in a timely manner, utilizing current reimbursement rules and regulations of third party payers, and general coding practices, as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assists with coding of daily charges and/or surgery charges as needed. Efficiently quotes surgery costs as applicable to assigned area(s).
Informs, educates and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders regarding coding, front office procedures, patient information, and charge capture process for facility encounters as applicable to assigned area(s).

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
