Laurel Public School Desktop and Network Support Technician in Laurel, Montana

The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a Desktop
and Network Support Technician position. This is a Level VI position,
with a current starting wage of $15.60 per hour. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED. • Valid Montana driver’s license •
Experience supporting desktop computers and peripherals • Experience
repairing iPads, Chromebooks, Android Tablets, or other exotic
technologies • Understanding of computer networking fundamentals •
Possess excellent customer service skills • Strong verbal and written
communication skills • Ability to work with others • Able to lift and
move computers and computer-related equipment • Must be able to
transport self to different locations within the district • Successful
background check - no criminal or other history that would impede
working in a K-12 environment DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • 2-year degree in
Microcomputer Support, Network Support, or related disciplines; OR
equivalent related experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Assist staff with
technical support of desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets,
chromebooks and related technology. • Ability to support specification,
installation and testing of systems and peripherals within established
standards and guidelines. • Interaction with application software and
operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring
problems. • Ability to repair chromebooks and tablets in an efficient
manner. • Assist in the maintenance and testing of network servers and
associated equipment. • Independent analyses, communication and problem
solving. • Perform work with little supervision and demonstrate
initiative and sound judgement. • Manage Ticket System used for
reporting issues. Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be
