State of Montana Nurse Educator in Lewistown, Montana

* * Job Overview: */ / The Nurse Educator role is a key member of MMHNCC’s healthcare team, responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that enhance the knowledge and skills of MMHNCC nursing staff. This role involves collaborating with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, develop curricula based on industry standards and best practice. Utilizing various teaching methodologies and technologies, the Nurse Educator fosters a positive learning environment that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, prior experience in nursing education, and a commitment to evidence-based practice and professional development. *Major Duties or Responsibilities: A. Plans, organizes, and presents training programs on a variety of subjects related to patient care to Hospital staff. 100% · Develop and deliver educational programs, including orientation, continuing education, and competency-based assessments for nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, MA IIs, CNAs, and other unlicensed personnel. · Plan and implement appropriate nursing care interventions, identify learning gaps, and develop educational programming using theory-based applied learning, hands-on learning, and didactic learning. · Collaborate with nursing leadership and other departments to identify and address learning needs. · Promote regulatory compliance of skill competencies and standards of care and monitor changes to rules and regulations that impact nursing training. · Design, implement, and evaluate curricula, using evidence-based practice to enhance nursing knowledge and skills. · Support the development of individualized nursing care plans, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards. · Serve as a resource for nursing staff to promote quality patient care. · Provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and support to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development. · Utilize various teaching methodologies and technologies to engage learners and accommodate diverse learning styles. · Deliver training related to the proper usage and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. · Facilitate and coordinate learning activities, such as workshops, simulations, and online modules. · Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for nursing staff, offering guidance and consultation on clinical practice and professional issues. · Maintain current knowledge of nursing practice, healthcare trends, and educational best practices through continuous professional development. · Participate in and contribute to nursing research and quality improvement initiatives. · Foster a positive learning environment that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.// · Collaborate with local academic programs and coordinate nursing student clinical rotations to ensure appropriate psychiatric nursing learning opportunities. Nurse Ed · Coordinates professional development activities and continuing educational programs in context with knowledge of local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies as well as psychiatric nursing treatment and rehabilitation. Physical and Environmental Demands:Professional Clinical, Medical, and Nursing Services positions primarily work on treatment units and in a clinic setting. These positions are involved in the treatment of persons who pose unpredictable and physically aggressive behavior requiring staff intervention and possible risk of injury to staff. Employees in these positions may be expected to assist with patient crisis interventions. These positions are also involved in the evaluation and treatment of persons with histories of serious criminal acts. Training and becoming an instructor for MMHNCC’s approved intervention techniques/program is required. * *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors): Required for the first day of work: * Ability to provide patient assessment and appropriate documentation. * Thorough knowledge and understanding of policies, protocol, and procedures, within area of nursing expertise. · Performaccurate and thorough work. · Knowledge of theories and best practices in adult learning and knowledge and skill in the use of techniques and methods for ensuring the transfer of training. * Skill in the use of the basic instruments and equipment of the nursing profession. * Knowledge of current psychopharmacology. * Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. * Ability to Analyze, assemble, and organize information. * Ability to proficiently utilize technology related to patient care information systems. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): · Registered Nurse - BSN Preferred · Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, with Psychiatric/Behavioral Health experience preferred. · Prior experience in nursing education, staff development, or a related role strongly preferred. · Applicants must earn the following certifications within 12 months of hire: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, and MANDT/Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certified Instructor.
