SCHOOL DIST ADMN District Kitchen Manager/Head Cook in LIBBY, Montana

NATURE OF POSITION: The School Nutrition Kitchen Manager/Head Cook shall be responsible to the Director of the School Nutrition Program and the Superintendent.The School Nutrition Kitchen Manager/Head Cook is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the food preparation and distribution the offsite buildings.The School Nutrition Kitchen Manager/Head Cook is responsible for providing the students and staff with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and efficiency. TYPICAL DUTIES: Assist with and supervise the food production, delivery, and clean-up activities of the central kitchen.Prepare, portion, and safely transport meals according to menus and in quantities that follow the state nutritional guidelines.Monitor and maintain appropriate food preparation, serving methods, food-handling techniques, health standards, sanitation, and safety for students/ staff. Implement effective changes and improvements to meet program requirements. Assist in the development of menus using the state nutritional guidelines.Maintain state and local documentation, such as: production records and receiving reports, and standardized recipes, etc.Inspects kitchen facility to insure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained.Maintains an inventory of all foods, supplies and equipment.Assumes responsibility for receiving, storing, handling, preparing, and serving food according to established standards.Promotes student and staff satisfaction by preparing and serving meals in an attractive manner.Work cooperatively with the supervisors and co-workers.Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.Follow all district policies and procedures.Performs other related duties and related activities as assigned. MINIMUM PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must have at least one of the following:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas*.Bachelor's degree in any academic major, and a State-recognized certificate.Bachelor's degree in any academic major, and at least one year of relevant experience in school nutrition programs.Associate's degree or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas,* and at least one year of relevant experience in school nutrition programs.High school diploma or GED and at least three (3) years of relevant experience in the school nutrition program. 2. Ability to operate district-sponsored computer software programs.Must be willing to complete the following district-sponsored checks:Physical Assessment, Fingerprint Background, & Motor Vehicle
