Reports To: Senior Project Manager

The Project Manager has a strategic role in managing projects from planning through delivery. Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, clients and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated. Utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Communicates schedule and changes to all stakeholders. Plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods and goals and to track project tasks. Prepares agendas, meeting notes, and project summaries. Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans. Monitors resources, budgets, and hours for the project and advises on adjustments when necessary.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

Strategic

  • Be a subject matter expert in assigned vertical industry and Nomad solution offerings.

  • Be a subject matter expert in vertical industry best practices and innovation.

  • Use the Nomad brand and voice in execution.

    People

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal department leads, customers, and vendors.

  • Participate in regular knowledge sharing and performance feedback meetings.

  • Serve as a Nomad ambassador.

    Process

  • Follow and execute Nomad’s PM methods and processes to deliver a “Frictionless Customer Experience”.

  • Support vertical manager and senior PM to meet business development goals.

  • Provide feedback and updates to senior PM and sales manager on tools and resources for sales organization being utilized, to include pricing, quoting, specification & proposal templates.

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects throughout lifecycle phases including project acceptance, requirements definition, design, production, and delivery to maintain project scop, timeline and budget.

  • Analyze and propose solutions to customer grievances, requirements, inquiries, and modifications.

  • Provide project milestone updates to Accounts Receivable for customer invoicing.

  • Ensure continuity between drawing packages and technical specifications.

  • Gather and organize all pertinent data for supporting specifications. i.e., documentation for GSA contracts.

  • Research and develop client specifications (FMVSS, SAE, MilSpec, DOT, new parts and how they compare to Nomad GCS standard parts, etc.)

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

  • Plan and coordinate on-site client visits and/or virtual walkthroughs for design reviews, mid-point and final acceptance inspections.

    Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Strong familiarity with project management and tracking methodologies.

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management requirements such as statements of work, specification creation, scheduling, resource allocation, and time management.

  • Understanding of technology, (complexities of products, machinery, cost elements: direct & indirect labor, overhead, direct materials, expenses, etc.)

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

    Working Environment:

  • Fast-paced environment, open-concept area with office space and production floor elements.

  • The Production area work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.

  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.

  • There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.

  • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.

  • The employee will periodically be required to work off the company premises for client visits and other business needs.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA / BS degree in Business, Industrial Technology / Engineering, Management, or related discipline strongly desired.

  • 4+ years of experience in project management, including all aspects of process development and execution.

  • Professional Management Certification a plus.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in the description may be substituted for the above requirements.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
