Position Summary:To recruit, license and complete annual re-licensure of all Therapeutic Foster Parents within the TFC program. Pre-Service and Monthly Training. Coordinate marketing of the TFC program to referral agencies throughout the state of Montana.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and license new families and relicense current families on a yearly basis. Complete all re-licensing duties and send the renewal request to the state of Montana thirty days before the license expiration date. Assure that all licensed families are in compliance with the licensing standards set forth by the State of Montana, D.P.H.H.S. contracts for service and Administrative Rule.

  • Work directly with the Treatment Parents to assure a home environment conducive to the growth and development of the youth, assure they are effective in their work with the youth, and assure they are in compliance with State of Montana licensing standards.

  • Maintain complete, timely and accurate contact/placement documentation on TFC Treatment Parents.

  • Provide monthly training and track the required yearly training hours of all licensed families. Keep families updated if they do not have the required yearly CEU's and be a resource for them in obtaining needed training hours.

  • Interpret and support agency foster care policies, procedures and treatment decisions to Treatment Parents, referring agencies and families.

  • Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

Education:Bachelor’s degree in human services related field is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.

Previous Professional Experience:With Bachelor Degree two (2) years of experience in similar or related position. With Master’s Degree a minimum of six (6) months of experience in similar position is preferred.

License and/or Certification:

Driver’s License to operate passenger vehicle.

Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana

Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements:

  • Office Environment: Employees are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.

  • Must be able to remain in stationary position frequently.

  • The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Freqently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as copier and printer.

  • The person in ths position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.

  • Must be able to precieve, recognize, and observe clients behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client

About the OrganizationYellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch was founded in 1956 and welcomed the first boy to the ranch in 1957. Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.

Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
