Position Summary:The purpose of this position is to provide the family and youth, including Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) level, with support to maintain the child in the home and avoid the need for a higher level of care. Provides support to the family of a child with a SED diagnosis, through a minimum of weekly home visits and ongoing communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support families through weekly meetings while providing educational, emotional, and community supports, risk assessment, and confidentiality to maintain a healthy relationship conducive to client growth through Therapeutic Foster Care and Home Support Services.
Understand the role of the family and family system, whether the family is biological, kinship, state foster care, or therapeutic foster care.
Complete, update, and maintain all necessary documentation within the guidelines set by COA, Montana ARM’s, Contracts, and YBGR Policy and Procedures.
Identify home visit tools that will assist youth and families in meeting their treatment goals, following the YBGR curriculum for home visits.
Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.

Participate in required training as appropriate to the position and beneficial to YBGR.
Required:Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field. A minimum of 6 (six) years of professional experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Previous Professional Experience:
Required:Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6 years without a degree.
License and/or Certification:
License to operate a passenger vehicle
Competencies or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to engage a diverse group of participants.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Ability to exercise and model good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crisis situations, and creative about finding solutions for them.
Use of computer and ability to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.
Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
Hiring Range Salary$15.87 - $17.77 per hour depending on experience.

Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.
Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
