The Director, FP&A reports directly to the CFO and will be responsible for managing all Financial Planning and Analysis for Montrose. This includes all internal operational reporting, ownership of the company's reporting system ("Board"), financial data analyses, acquisition diligence support, and oversight/support for various financial initiatives (e.g. pricing, forecasting, cost analyses, etc.). You'll need at least 15 years of experience with deep experience in FP&A, and welcome the opportunity to make an impact from day one.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a key member of the Finance team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Acts as lead for annual business planning and budgeting meetings, including rolling quarterly forecasting, project return on investments (ROI) analysis and decision support.
Partners with executive management team to establish total company, functional, and department-level budgets that are in alignment with corporate goals and directives.
Provides stakeholders with finance-based decision support for implementing new, as well as maintaining existing, products and processes. This includes ongoing development and maintenance of key performance initiative (KPI) metrics and reports that will help the functional teams manage their day-to-day business.
Participates in mergers and acquisitions financial due diligence and valuation, operational/financial modeling, post-deal integration, etc.
Ensures development and compliance of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) best practices at all times.
Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual ad-hoc reports and analytics for actuals and forecasts by collaborating with, and obtaining information from, the operational teams. Leads monthly/quarterly P&L calls with the field teams.
Identifies cost savings opportunities and works with business lines to implement them.
Responsible for bank compliance covenant reporting and forecasting of covenant ratios.
Responsible for calculating and tracking of earnout-outs.
Identifies and presents profitability drivers and KPIs that indicate trends in business performance and the overall financial condition of the organization on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
Maintains and prepares presentations and spreadsheets for the Board of Directors, investors, management team.
Administers and maintains the Company's internal reporting software "Board".
Works closely with accounting team to ensure the accuracy of month end results, including ensuring that EBITDA adjustments are appropriately reviewed and tracked
Provides finance support to other departments as needed (including HR and operations)
Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
Provides input and recommendations for implementing and improving processes related to FP&A.
Oversees the training, mentoring and development or direct and/or indirect reports.
Manages the group and addresses employee performance and expectations as well as any employee concerns, and escalate as needed.
Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
Participates in Company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
15+ years of Finance and/or Accounting experience, including 6+ years in FP&A
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university
10+ years of managerial and/or leadership experience
Large company/public company experience desired
Strong knowledge of accounting
Expert user of Microsoft Excel and strong financial modeling capabilities
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Google, and/or PC programs
Experience with financial planning and budgeting software
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Solid organization and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
