Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Position: Manufacturing Engineering Technician I
Our Manhattan, Montana facility is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering I to add to our team. The Manufacturing Engineering I is responsible for Developing new methods, tooling, and machine designs while resolving processing issues/problems. The manufacturing engineer heavily engages in the design, manufacture, automation, and quality assurance of injection molded components and assemblies for the consumer outdoor marketplace while driving efficiency and safety improvements in the factory.
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to
Perform major equipment and project management assignments including: capital expenditure justification, equipment/process design, source, and implementation as well as project spending, project execution timing, and resource management.
Deelop improvements to tooling and processes for the manufacture of existing products by changing specifications and supervising tests concerning product improvement.
Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities such as improved material utilization, increased machine/process efficiency, reduced cost of poor quality, etc.
Reviews tools and machine part drawings for the necessity of revision on tolerances, surface finishes, dimensions, material selection, etc., and initiates Engineering Change Orders.
Investigates and troubleshoots production difficulties and takes corrective measures.
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
1 year experience in a manufacturing\engineering environment (preferred)
Excellent mathematical, problem solving, written and verbal communications skills
Thorough understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories.
Ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision and direction
Experience in the design, development, and management of components and assemblies
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and CAD
Experience in the design, Installation, and maintenance of automated\robotic systems
Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Knowledge and understanding of injection molding processes, tools, and techniques.
Well-rounded knowledge of materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques.
Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Understanding of machine shop technology, tools, and equipment
Experience coordinating with multi-functional teams
Experience using Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs
Ability to apply sensor and machine vision technologies for the manufacturing environment
