Stockman Bank of Montana ACCOUNTING CLERK in Miles City, Montana
Position General Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing accounts payable, posting general ledger entries, completing various account reconcilements, reviewing official checks, and other miscellaneous accounting department support duties. General accounting work is performed using various banking financial systems, accounting software, spreadsheets, and databases.

Minimum Qualifications:
Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Good interpersonal /team skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and provide close attention to detail – task oriented.
High School diploma or equivalency.
Previous personal computer experience.
Proficient in the use of general office equipment.
Strong work ethic and organizational skills are a must. Must be dependable, accurate and efficient.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong computer knowledge and program skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Bank related software.
Previous Accounting/General Ledger experience in an office setting.
Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies:
General Ledger
Responsible for assisting in the posting of various general ledger entries for the bank and other affiliate companies.
Responsible for balancing certain general ledger accounts and resolving differences.
Accounts Payable
Responsible for recording invoices on the accounts payable system, for all branches and affiliate companies, to be paid out of the appropriate general ledger accounts (expense classification).
Responsible for the filing/indexing of accounts payable invoices.
Responsible for researching vendors/payables to assist management as needed.
Responsible for preparing accounts payable checks/notices for mailing.
Reconcilements
Responsible for the reconcilement of internal bank accounts and correspondent bank statements.
Responsible for the reconcilement of cash serviced ATMs and responding to claims related to these machines.
Official Checks
Responsible for the daily importing of certain files into the Bank’s positive pay program.
Responsible for reviewing exception items related to official checks.
Miscellaneous Duties
Responsible for recording various transactions on the Bank’s bond accounting system.
Responsible for recording detailed transactions to Stockman Exchange’s subsidiary ledger.
Sales/Public Relations
Promote the improvement of Stockman Bank through quality customer service, promotion of products, professionalism in conduct, and a diligent work ethic.
Greet all customers pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Handle transactions quickly and professionally.
Effectively handle customer questions and problems.
Federal Regulations
Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
