CITY OF MILES CITY Laborer / Public Works - Street in MILES CITY, Montana
The employer is hiring for a full-time position with the Public Works Department. Will work Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week. 7am-3pm. The probationary wage is $17.76 per hour. Will performs physical labor duties associated with the Engineering and Operations including vehicle maintenance, street maintenance, parks and recreation, facility maintenance, occasional assignments in the Public Utilities Department, and other duties as assigned by the Public Works Supervisor or Parks Department Foreman. This position will perform strenuous physical labor. Position may work in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures. Position requires adherence to practices of safety in operation of equipment and working with machinery. Proper use of safety equipment and clothes for inclement weather is required in order to prevent injury and illness. This position is on call for emergencies and adheres to standards of confidentiality. This position requires ability to handle heavy objects, manually dig, walk on uneven ground, operate and maintain department equipment, read labels, and hand tools. This position is an on-call position, 24 hours per day. Education and Experience include High School Diploma or equivalent, possess a valid Montana Driver's License and must be eligible for coverage by the City's insurance carriers.
