Probation: Subject to a 6-month introductory (probationary) period
POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Program Coordinator (FPC) organizes, directs and implements the food programs for the Y’s Early Education centers, After School, Out of School programs and camps. This includes planning menus, ordering supplies and inventory and generally advocating healthy lifestyles. The FPC is responsible for all reporting required for Montana Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) and compliance with all other Y-USA, state and federal nutritional guidelines. The FPC is also responsible for purchasing and maintaining food inventories; the planning, preparing and serving of healthy child care meals, breakfast, lunch and snacks at the YMCA Development Center or Learning Center for infants and young children, in accordance with safe food handling and preparation guidelines, and according to HEPA standards. The FPC is responsible for abiding by any child’s known food allergies or food restrictions, and maintaining a clean kitchen and food prep environment in accordance with all health code guidelines. Must be able to thrive in an environment with the unique challenges of a non-profit community service organization. Works with limited supervision.
• Preferred - Bachelors degree in related field
• Preferred - YMCA Team Leader certification
• Required - One to two years of related experience preferred (e.g., as a coordinator of people or activities).
• Required – Proficiency in using typical business software and office equipment, be detail oriented, proficient at time management and meeting deadlines.
