Job Description Summary:

The Staff/Project Hydrogeologist will primarily be responsible for data analysis, data management, development of Conceptual Site Models, and the construction, calibration, and reporting of analytical and numerical groundwater models. In addition, this position will be responsible for preparing technical scopes of work, conducting field investigations, assisting with system design, and reporting to support the needs of clients in the US and abroad. This position requires superior written and verbal communication skills to interface with staff personnel, clients, and vendors effectively. An employee in this position is expected to work as a member of diverse project teams and accomplish specific tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

Education Requirement: A Master’s degree in hydrogeology or related fields such as geology, hydrochemistry, or environmental engineering or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience Requirement: A minimum of three years of relevant experience working or a master’s degree and one year of industry experience.

Software/Skills: The position requires the applicant to have working knowledge of Microsoft Office© software, including Access, as well as AQTESOLV, ESRI ArcMap or QGIS, and groundwater modeling programs such as MODFLOW or FEFLOW. The position requires the applicant to have strong quantitative skills to analyze three-dimensional data spatially and temporally.

Potential Travel: Travel to project sites located in the Western US, and elsewhere, both domestic and international.

Position Location: Missoula, MT.

Physical Demands: The position may require sitting for long periods of time, extended hours working on a computer, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Field assignments are located in a variety of climactic conditions and may require standing, squatting, bending, the use of machinery, and a variety of tools.

Essential Functions:

· Acquire, organize, and analyze physical and chemical data.

· Develop and calibrate analytical and numerical groundwater models designed to forecast future conditions at project sites.

· Develop technical scopes of work and conduct field investigation activities such as drilling supervision, well construction, aquifer testing, packer testing, surface and downhole geophysical testing, and groundwater sampling.

· Prepare accurate and professional technical reports and presentations.

Salary Range:$55,000 to $95,000. Salary is negotiable and based on experience. Competitive benefits are offered to full-time employees in this role.
