SUMMARY
The Parts Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory of the facilities maintenance operations, including inventory counts, procurement, receiving and stocking of building materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Catalog and maintain inventory item data and specifications within the computerized database for inventory
Create purchase orders and place orders with vendors
Receive product, reconcile to invoice and enter into database; restock as needed
Perform month-end inventory reviews
Perform cost comparisons to source best pricing on materials
Manage vendor relations
Collaborate with manufacturers to develop higher quality materials for proprietary parts with a high rate of failure
Initial setup and ongoing organization/management of parts rooms - organizing, labeling, bins, and distribution
Optimize the inventory management processes through provided software
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience in a construction, repair trade or home improvement retail store preferred.
Knowledge of building materials such as fasteners, plumbing, electrical, and tools.
Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft office and Internet navigation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess a positive attitude
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate effective interface with culturally diverse hourly and management Associates, vendors, applicants and the public at large
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 4 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. frequently. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates; use of these senses will occur on a constant basis.
