General Summary: SKC seeks a Community Health Worker to conduct data collection activities for a new Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative funded by the National Institutes of Health. This community-engaged research study, 'Protecting Our Community: A Pragmatic Randomized Trial of Home-Based COVID Testing with American Indian and Latino Communities,? will evaluate delivery methods to improve use of home-based testing in these communities. The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately infected people who identify as American Indian (AI) and Hispanic/Latino and these groups also have increased risk of poor prognosis due to high rates of chronic disease such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. In the northwestern part of the U.S., American Indian and Latino communities already face significant disparities in health care access, which have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. SKC seeks a Community Health Worker who can implement strategies to test the effectiveness of active (via trusted community members) vs. passive (via mail or self-pickup) delivery on the completion rates of home-based self-testing for COVID-19. A key part of this position is engagement with American Indians living on the Flathead Reservation, including outreach, education, recruitment and data collection. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field. Associate's degree with applicable experience is acceptable. 2 years of experience in public health and/or health services research. 5 years of experience interacting and communicating with diverse populations. Experience with recruitment, screening, consenting and enrolling research participants.Exceptional communication skills, written, oral, and telephone. Ability to work both independently with limited supervision and as part of a team. Ability to exercise sound judgment and to address complex situations with creativity. Ability to balance multiple demands simultaneously under time constraints. Highly organized and attentive to detail. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
