SALISH KOOTENAI COLLEGE Grant Coordinator/Student Support in PABLO, Montana

General Summary: An Education Division Grant Coordinator/Student Support Specialist is primarily responsible for working with students to promote academic success, advising students in the selection of courses, and monitoring their progress with coursework and the TEP process; assisting with registration and College processes and documentation; communicating regularly and as needed with SKC staff, administration and faculty; maintaining records and student files for students in the Education programs and participating on the SKC Education Advisory Board and other committees as needed. The Grant Coordinator/Student Support Specialist (ESSS) will assist students in all Division of Education degree programs with identifying and addressing obstacles to success in their respective teacher education program. The ESSS will assist students with accessing services and resources to support their continued academic progress. This may include, but is not limited to, help with technology skill development and access issues, tutoring services for writing and other academic needs, accessing community resources, helping students with TEP portfolios, etc. This position will also include support for students in their preparation for national teacher exams associated with licensure, and academic advising including help with registration. Additional responsibilities include: working with the Jump Start Head Start and Pathways Grant Director with various tasks relevant to the programs and procedures of this initiative, including program documentation, student records and data management tasks, and Early Childhood Education student support. In addition, summer dutiesand responsibilities will include tidying/organizing building spaces and materials and assisting in the coordination and implementation of project activities that include Native Language Summit, Kinderbridge, and Preschool Summer Camp. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of an Associate's Degree but a Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field is preferred. Adequate computer skills associated with spreadsheets, data input, online learning platforms, word processing, and grant reporting. Knowledge of the behavior, customs, and origins of the Salish, Pend Oreille, and Kootenai Tribes and the mission and goals of Salish Kootenai College. Knowledge and skills necessary to protect people, data, and property to comply with FERPA regulations. Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to communicate consistently and effectively through written, spoken, and visual media. Previous experience supervising others.
