Clark Fork Valley Hospital and Family Medicine Network offers a very sophisticated medical environment while maintaining its small-town feel. With seven hospitalists and a number of specialty outreach providers, including orthopedists, a general surgeon, three rural health clinics countywide and a home oxygen service. Clark Fork Valley Hospital projects a larger footprint than one would expect of a rural Critical Access Hospital.

As far as location, Plains is located in the scenic Northwest region of Montana and is the quintessential example of rural, western living. The Clark Fork of the Columbia River winds gracefully through town settled in a gorgeous mountain valley.

Spend a summer day on the river casting your fly or on a hike in the Cabinet Mountains. Winter weekends can be full of cross-country skiing in the valley, snowmobiling in the wilderness or downhill skiing at one of the seven resorts within two hours.

The area is also well-known for its outstanding elk, sheep and deer hunting. Glacier National Park, the "Crown of the Continent," is only two hours away for four-season enjoyment.

The beautiful Clark Fork River, nearby Flathead Lake and Lake Pend Oreille provide excellent opportunities for the sail boating, water skiing or lake fishing enthusiast.

Clark Fork has excellent schools in a hometown atmosphere. And it's close to the "big city," with Missoula just 75 miles away and Spokane, Washington, 150 miles away.
