QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a registered and licensed nutritionist; a RN or a LPN, or have an Associate's or a Bachelor's degree in a health related field; must have 6-12 semester hours in foods and nutrition appropriate to the WIC population; successfully completed college level Anatomy & Physiology coursework; and have organizational and time management and oral and written communication skills. Must be knowledgeable of the WIC certification process and medical terminology; skilled in the use of computer programs; and possess the ability to multitask, remain professional in stressful situations, and maintain confidential information.DUTIES: Perform nutritional assessments and screenings; determine and assign nutritional risk factors; develop and document a nutritional care plan; provide nutrition education and preventative health information to families; prescribe appropriate supplemental nutrition; issue participant benefits and explain how to use them; provide relevant health/nutrition information and referrals to other programs and resources; promote breast feeding and provide education and referrals; identify participants and initiate care plans; complete WIC health measurements; provide indirect supervision to other staff; develop and maintain working relationships; and review and develop nutrition and breast feeding education materials.HOURS/DAYS: Part-time; Monday, Tuesday, Friday (24 hours/week)
