LAKE COUNTY Justice Court Clerk in POLSON, Montana

The Lake County Justice of the Peace is accepting applications for a Justice Court Clerk. Duties: Under general supervision of the Justice Court Office Administrator, process criminal, traffic, civil, small claims and protection complaints in Justice Court; Enter and maintain citations; Maintain master court calendar and schedule hearings; Audit files, oversee filing system, citation for bond forfeitures; Regulate access to files; Collect and record fines, fees, and court costs; Prepare record on appeal, collect undertaking and transmit record; Update civil, criminal, and traffic documents; Maintain warrants and orders; Conduct bailiff duties, prepare juror summons, maintain jury panels; Respond to public requests on court appearances, trial dates, warrants, summonses; Record case dispositions, orders, warrants; Examine documents for adherence to laws or court procedures; Perform accounting, prepare and audit accounts payable claims; Process surety or cash bonds and judgments; Process satisfactions of judgment and orders of dismissals & District Court transfers; Obtain confidential drivers and criminal histories; Track community service hours and workers compensation payments; Process disposition reports for newspapers, chemical dependency referrals; Reconcile check book, invoice payment claims, prepare monthly distribution checks; Maintain high level of customer service on the phone, in writing and in person; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have the ability to understand and apply specific rules, codes, regulations and procedures; perform detailed office support work; organize and maintain accurate files and records; build and maintain effective working relationships with court personnel and with those having business with the court; computer proficient and accurately type at a rate sufficient to perform assigned duties. Must be able to pass a background investigation and qualify for and maintain CJIN certification. Hours/Days: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
