Indian Health Service Custodial Worker in Poplar, Montana

Summary This position is located in the Housekeeping department, at the White Buffalo Healthcare Facility, Poplar, MT. The position reports to the Custodial Worker Supervisor. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19. READVERTISEMENT - This position is being re-advertised to solicit additional applications. Responsibilities Clean all patient treatment rooms, exam rooms and laboratory areas and ensure that all are disinfected, sanitized or decontaminated and free from pathogenic bacteria and infectious waste. Scrub, strip, wax and polish floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers. Periodically inspect all exam rooms, office, hallways, storage areas or all physical locations within the health facility to ensure that floors and halls are washed, waxed and polished; ensure that all file cabinets, tables, counters, window sills, light fixtures and fans are dusted and cleaned; ensure that restrooms are supplied with soap, paper towels, toilet tissue and deodorizers. Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Fingerprint results and background investigation documentation must be cleared prior to hire. After you begin your employment, your continued employment is contingent upon the outcome of a complete background investigation as determined by the sensitivity level of your position. The investigation must find that you are suitable for Federal employment in your position. If you are found not suitable, you will be terminated after you begin work. You may be subject to a credit check as a part of the background investigation process. Fingerprinting, as part of the background investigation process, may be delayed due to COVID-19. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Competition for Custodial Worker Positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veteran's preference as long as such applicants meet the additional eligibility criteria under the IHS Excepted Service Examining Plan and/or IHS Merit Promotion Plan. Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations. WG-3: Your resume must demonstrate experience obtained in either the Federal, private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Clean various areas, e.g., exam rooms, public restrooms, walls, floors, furnishings, windows, outside entrance, respond to emergency cleaning needs; vacuum, sweep, mop and maintain floors within the facility and facility quarters when required; Use of manual and automated cleaning tools, e.g., brooms, mops, high pressured floor and/or carpet cleaners, pressure washers, etc.; remove non-infectious and infectious waste, mix and use chemicals, lift of move objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
