FORT PECK HOUSING AUTHORITY Resident Services Counselors in POPLAR, Montana

FORT PECK HOUSING AUTHORITY is soliciting applications for Four (4) Resident Services Counselors 2 for Poplar and 2 for Wolf Point area. MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE: Interact/advocate with tenants in FPHA tenant relations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: -Conducts annual Inspections of housing units by physically checking for damage and preparing summary of damage and transfer work order to Housing maintenance department. Reports directly to the Occupancy Specialist Supervisor -Counsels tenants during move-ins by conducting walk through and explaining lease requirements and program information. - Home visits to counsel tenants on tenant damages, lease violations, make sure lease requirements/rules of occupancy are understood by tenants. -Utilize outside departments such as Pest Control, Animal Control, Maintenance department, Department of Health & Human Services. -Mainstreaming files on tenants and collecting rent from tenants unable to leave their homes. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of Federal housing regulations. - Knowledge of the Fort Peck Housing Authority policies and procedures. Ability to work independently following general policies of the housing authority and federal regulations. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works under limited supervision following FPHA policies and procedures and Federal regulations, meets weekly with supervisor to receive assignments and discuss any job related concerns. Makes decisions regarding the scheduling of visits and inspections. Error impact is typically minor and usually identified by supervisor. Interacts with other Housing authority staff members and tenants to discuss tenant related matters. Works primarily at home sites with additional work in a standard office setting with no unusual physical demands. Limited exposure to minor pest control chemicals. QUALIFICATIONS: Job requires a minimum of a High School Diploma and 2 years of experience in related field. Applicant must have own vehicle and insurance (liability). Pre-employment drug test will be required. SALARY: $ 16.00 an hour with Holiday pay and leave accrual
