DANIELS COUNTY Deputy Sheriff in SCOBEY, Montana

Daniels County Sheriffs Office is looking for a full-time team member interested in a career in law enforcement with our Sheriffs office. Post certified officers would be preferred, but is not required. Daniels County is an equal opportunity employer. Duties: Deputy Sheriff duties include but are not limited to responding to complaints; patrol jurisdictional area; investigating criminal acts; preserve the peace; arrest persons for violations of law; issue citations; complete associated paperwork; apply for and serve search and arrest warrants; collection and preservation of evidence; follow-up investigations and interviews; transport of detained individuals; service of civil process; Sheriff sales of seized property; provide special event security; court bailiff; coroner duties; search and rescue operations; animal control activities; and assist other law enforcement agencies as needed. Job Requirements ? Must be able to meet all Montana State requirements as set in MCA 7-32-2104 and 7-32-303. Must be a US citizen ? Must be 18 years of age ? Must possess or be eligible for a valid Montana drivers license ? Must consent to a criminal background check and be fingerprinted upon hire ? Shall successfully complete the peace officer basic course at the Montana law enforcement academy; within one year of hire date ? Applicants will be on a one-year probationary period ? Must successfully complete an oral examination conducted by the appointing authority or its designated representative ? Accredited high school diploma or equivalent ? Is of good moral character ? Has never been convicted of a felony; ? Has not within 5 years immediately preceding the date of employment been affiliate in any manner with a subversive organization; ? Must be examined and cleared by a licensed Montana physician who is not the applicants personal physician medically within 30 days of employment and be pronounced in good physical condition ? Must have a mental health evaluation by a licensed Montana physician who is not the applicants personal physician and be cleared ? Applicant must not have any disqualifying misdemeanors ? Applicant must successfully complete the MPAT prior to attending the Montana Law Enforcement Academy ? Applicant must be able to efficiently operate a computer ? Applicants must have effective communications/people skills ? Applicants must successfully complete field training program Note: Employment is conditional on passing a criminal background check, physical/psychological/drug screen and obtaining a Montana P.O.S.T certification.
