Job Description Summary:
This position has overall responsibility for the day-to-day technical/clinical and administrative management of the assigned area(s).
Qualifications:• Current Montana Respiratory Therapy (RT) license required. Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy or other healthcare related fieldpreferred.• Minimum of three (3) years’ leadership experience required.• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist required. Experience in managing other respiratory service careareas preferred, to include; sleep testing services, pulmonary function testing and/or Cardiopulmonary Rehab services.• Experience in developing and maintaining unit budgets and productivity requirements preferred.• CPR Certification required.• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function aspart of a team as well as independently.• Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.• Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:
• Provides day-to-day operational leadership to the assigned area(s) to ensure a safe and appropriate environment for patients and staff. Ensures procedure areas comply with health and safety standards for cleanliness and operational functionality.• Updates assigned respiratory service care areas job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.• Maintains legal and accreditation compliance per federal, state, and local regulations. Assures regulatory and other professional surveys are conducted in a professional and educational manner.• Ensures staff competencies are assessed and maintained.• Develops assigned respiratory service care areas financial strategies by; estimating, forecasting and anticipating requirements, trends, variances, aligning monetary resources and develops action plans.• Plans for and ensures supervision and adequate numbers of staff to fulfill departmental objectives.• Assures productivity standards are set according to regional and national standards. Monitors the productivity with fluctuating workload, and strives for optimal efficiency of the department.• Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions. Plans for, develops and implements high quality services for all identified customers in accordance with the philosophy and mission statement of Logan Health.• Monitors department productivity standards. Assists leadership with operational and capital budget development and fiscal oversight. Assists leadership and materials management to assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available. Provides input on supply use and supply/equipment cost analysis.• Proactively partners with Human Resources in the areas of employee relations, corrective action, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits and HR policies. Works closely with HR to develop job descriptions and job standards for each position and monitors for accuracy. Conducts annual performance appraisals according to HR guidelines. Provides regular, scheduled feedback to assigned employees regarding performance. Establishes processes to ensure employees are properly trained for positions and developscross training opportunities as warranted.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
