Local County is looking for a Public Health Nurse. 40 hours per week. Support public health related duties, including promotion and maintenance of good health, flu shot clinics, W.I.C. program and immunization clinics at the direction of the County Health Nurse Supervisor; may also manage program(s) assigned by the County Health Nurse Supervisor; may also act as a Competent Professional Authority for WIC program as assigned by County Health Nurse Supervisor.Essential Functions: Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate the health and welfare of county residents. Support screening clinics, school nursing services, maternal and child health and breast feeding programs at the direction of Health Nurse Supervisor. Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs. Administer and record immunizations. Answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them. Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions. Maintain required records including vaccine inventory and immunization. Communicate with other health care facilities or ancillary services regarding patient care needs. Comply with established department policies, objectives, quality assurance, safety, supply inventory and utilization regulations, environmental and infection control. Non - Essential functions: Attend workshops, seminars, and educational sessions to keep updated on changes in assigned area of departmental responsibility. Support public health screenings. Participate in quality improvement activities. Perform emergency response roles as assigned by supervisor. Must be professional and courteous at all times. REQUIREMENTS: Current MT license as Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. At least one year successful experience as RN, LPN, public health or clinical nursing in above duties. High comfort level with computer use, and strong familiarity with Microsoft (MS) PowerPoint, Word, and Excel programs preferred. Current Montana driver's license
