Stockman Bank of Montana CONSUMER LENDER TRAINEE in Sidney, Montana

Position General Responsibilities:

Generate and administer a high-quality Consumer Loan Portfolio consistent with established lending policies. Provide backup lending support for Real Estate Loan Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

4 years business related college degree and/or equivalent experience.

1-3 years consumer underwriting and lending experience.

Strong credit analysis and decision-making skills.

Strong time-management skills with ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong communication computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous lending/underwriting experience.

Previous Bank and/or sales experience helpful.

Constantly works with others, around others, with co-workers in other departments or branches and with customers and the general public in person and via telephone. Constantly works indoors, in confined areas and is exposed to the risk of electrical shock.

Frequently works around noise (moderate level). The employee must have the ability to focus on tasks and customers while hearing machines, conversations of others, music, phones etc., in a confined area.

Infrequently the employee works alone and also works near moving objects. The employee is also infrequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Dimension of Job:

This position will be responsible for analyzing, processing and servicing existing and future consumer loans. This professional will work within the community to expand consumer relationships with existing customers and develop new consumer relationships through a strong community involvement.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies

Consumer Lending Functions (Consumer and Home Equity):

Knowledge of all available lending programs related to consumer loans.

Understanding and compliance with SB/SFC lending policies and procedures.

Origination of new and renewal consumer loans.

Documentation of consumer loans and consumer loan file management.

Responsible for origination of loan, producing loan documents, closing, file management and lien filings and insurance follow-up

Responsible for regulatory compliance - all consumer loans except real estate.

Home Equity, Credit Line and Overdraft Protection (Open End Credit). Review and make credit decision on new applications. Administer the credit file documentation process and collection activity.

Review lines of credit for potential increase, decrease or adverse action

Provide backup lending support for Real Estate Originator

Indirect Consumer Lending Functions (Dealer Contracts):

Origination and documentation of dealer loans.

Supervision of assigned dealer contract lines and collections.

Adherence to loan limits.

Collection Function:

Direct contact with delinquent borrowers.

Recommendations for definite plans of action for collection of difficult accounts.

Supervision of consumer loans collection procedures.

Regular reporting of delinquent loans and loans in jeopardy.

Monitor past due totals and percentages and report to Senior Management.

Supervision of recordkeeping of property held for resale.

Develop and implement disposal plans.

Collection duties, as assigned for Real Estate loans.

New Business Development:

Responsible for generating new consumer loan business.

Regular contact with merchants who might refer business to Stockman Bank.

Call on prospective direct loan customers.

Refer potential customers to other bank personnel as appropriate.

Bank Organization:

Recommendation for improvements in policies and procedures, and the implementation of approved changes.

Assistance with goal setting for the Consumer Loan Department.

Regular information to all Bank personnel regarding changes in consumer loan policies, procedures, and government loan programs.

Participate in community related activities

Assist with development of new programs and products for consumer loan customers.

·New ideas for generation of income.

Recommendations as to loan pricing for profit and competitiveness.

Monitor our competition as to rates and prices.

Assistance with information of price changes.

Sales of Non-Credit Products:

Sales of credit life/credit disability insurance whenever possible.

Encourage credit insurance sales by all consumer lenders.

Federal Regulations:

Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E and Bank Security.
