Stockman Bank of Montana INSURANCE AGENT in Stanford, Montana

Position General Responsibilities:

Originator of new insurance business through the servicing of requests, calling on potential or existing Stockman Insurance customers, and representing the agency in community activities. Administration of an established insurance portfolio, servicing it as needed to ensure maximum profitability for the insurance company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Montana State insurance license

  • Strong Personal Lines background (2+ years)

  • Proven Business development experience / track record

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Willingness to work in community projects.

  • Experienced in using Windows based applications

  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and be able to drive long distances at times.

  • Ability to travel - approximately 25% travel required

Regularly lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. with occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Constantly works with others, around others, with co-workers in other departments or branches and with customers and the general public in person and via telephone. Constantly works indoors, in confined areas and is exposed to the risk of electrical shock.

Frequently works around noise (moderate level). The employee must have the ability to focus on tasks and customers while hearing machines, conversations of others, music, phones etc., in a confined area.

Infrequently the employee works alone and also works near moving objects. The employee is also infrequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Dimension of Job:

Incumbent is an insurance agent working under direct supervision of the VP/General Manager of Stockman Insurance.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies

Insurance Function

  • Work independently to provide written and verbal information to customers regarding property casualty insurance..

  • Develop annual insurance marketing plan.

  • Comply with all FCIC and FCC requirements and regulations.

  • Meet or exceed annual insurance continuing education requirements.

  • Maintain necessary accounting records for tracking premiums, commissions and other general ledger entries.

  • Serve as resource person for Stockman Bank staff.

Business Development and Public Relations

Service requests and call on present customers to maintain existing business and generate new business.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies continued

  • Identification and solicitation of prospective customers to generate new insurance business.

  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and prices and governmental agency program and prices.

  • Participation in community events and organizations that generate new business for the agency and bank.

Insurance Agency Organization & Administration

Promote the improvement of Stockman Insurance through quality customer service, promotion of products, professionalism in conduct and a diligent work ethic.

Contribute to a harmonious relationship with other employees to provide and maintain the best possible work environment.

Sales of Non Insurance Products

Take part in an active referral program to Stockman Bank and Stockman Asset Management.
