Summary Job Description:
Provide supportive guidance for 6 - 12 home based Head Start families. Assess and identify the family’s needs and strengths. Assess and identify the children’s needs and strengths. Work cooperatively with community agencies and resources. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain complete and timely records. Follow component and Head Start policies and procedures. Attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Training
Required: Home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; and demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Age Birth to Five
Prefer: College level courses in child development, early childhood education, and/or social work. Prefer experience working with young children in a Head Start or preschool setting. 2 years of experience working with parents and children in a child development program, classroom management, child abuse prevention, positive guidance, social work, communication, organization.
