CITY OF THREE FORKS Public Works General Laborer in THREE FORKS, Montana

The City of Three Forks is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Public Works General Laborer.This positions? general characteristics are multi-faceted by covering water and wastewater operations, street maintenance and parks. Water and wastewater operations include replacing service connections, repairing leaks/curb stops/meters, collecting samples and preparing for testing per State and Federal requirements, operating valves, pumps, and flushing hydrants; street maintenance typically consists of operating heavy equipment to sweep, grading gravel roads, and asphalt patching; park work consists of cleanup, assembly, and repairs just to name a few for each department.This position will transition into an apprenticeship position for Water and Wastewater System Operator. The transition will occur when Montana Rural Water has an apprenticeship program developed, estimated to be October 2022. Time worked at the City before October 2022, will be credited to ?on-the-job? training portion of the State recognized apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship program is a two-to-three-year time-based program, combining on-the-job training with related course work and instruction.Position requires graduating from high school or GED equivalent, and a valid Driver?s License. Heavy equipment operational skills, and water/wastewater utility operation experience is preferred [including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Programmable Logic Control (PLC)]. Applicant will be required to possess, or obtain within three years, a Montana State Class 3A, 4B and 3C Water and Wastewater Operator certifications. A Commercial Driver?s License with tanker endorsement will also be required within one year.
