Montana Employer Construction Field Technician in WHITEFISH, Montana

General Contractor Seeking Full Time Field TechnicianWe are a local General Contractor in the Whitefish area looking for a Field Technician. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to keep themselves busy throughout the day while multitasking and prioritizing a heavy workload. Must be comfortable in a labor-intensive environment. Must be very organized, motivated and possess strong communication skills as you will be working with a team.Overview: Prepare job sites for various construction tasks and assist with those in progress. Keep job sites safe and clean. Manage office maintenance, storage building, and tool/equipment inventory.Responsibilities:- Perform tasks as assigned by Project Managers and/or Superintendents. May include but not limited to hand excavation, demolition, carrying supplies and materials, setting up and breaking down workstations and scaffolding, minor carpentry, tool/equipment maintenance, punch list tasks, assisting trade subcontractors, warranty work, etc.- Report any problems, damage, hazardous conditions, and oversights to assigned Project Manager and/or Superintendents.- Ensure job sites are clean. Make sure subcontractors are cleaning up after themselves per the scope of their contract. Make sure debris is contained in proper dumpsters. Perform exterior pick-up and interior sweeping and/or tidying once a day (or as directed by Project Manager and/or Superintendent).- Assist Project Managers and/or Superintendents receive and inventory material deliveries. Unload trucks, stack, and store materials. Protect lumber and other large materials from exposure to weather.- De-ice, shovel snow, and supply heat to homes under construction in winter.- Ensure excavated areas, trenches, and holes are marked for safety.- Manage maintenance of office and storage areas. May include but not limited to basic repairs, de-ice, shovel snow, sweep exterior areas, maintain landscaping, etc.- Manage and maintain company tooling and equipment. Create and maintain check out system. Keep tooling and equipment is good working order. Facilitate any needed repairs.- Represent the company in a professional manor.- Assist ownership with personal property maintenance.Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED- Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, Word, and Outlook- Experience with basic carpentry and construction preferred.- Ability to lift 80 pounds and freely maneuver around job sites.- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.- Experience pulling full size equipment trailer.
