This position includes working as host, cashier, barista, busser, and food runner. Assists waitstaff in all areas of the dining room. Is responsible for the setup, maintenance and operation of the espresso area, assisting with dining room duties, and banquets when requested. Maintains high quality standards in regard to service, sanitation and safety. Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary.

  • Reports to work on time in a neat and clean uniform.

  • Obtains instructions from manager at the beginning of the shift.

  • Greets guests at door, seats guests and offer menus.

  • Implements the use of a waitlist in order to maintain a smooth operation by adjusting the flow of guests into the dining room.

  • Delivers prepared food to tables as requested. Assists Servers in maintaining efficient and timely service.

  • Serves coffee/espresso drinks to guests, in a friendly and outgoing manner.

  • Maintains effective portion controls in the Espresso area using established pouring methods.

  • Clears and resets tables quickly. Keeps tables neat and clean throughout service.

  • Takes to go orders from guest and keeps side stand stocked throughout service.

  • Keeps Espresso area neat and clean throughout service.

  • Maintains service side of dish area.

  • Collects currency, makes change and gives receipt with every transaction.

  • Assists with banquets according to GPI standards.

  • Takes part in all sales goals and incentive programs. Greets and informs guests of promotions and makes yes-yes choices available to the guest.

  • Participates in on-going employee training and accepts coaching and feedback professionally.

  • Ensures standards of appearance, safety and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis.

  • Handles guest concerns in a professional manner and takes fast and appropriate action to solve problems.

  • Responsible for following federal, state and company policies and regulations for serving (alcoholic) beverages in a responsible manner.

  • Maintains line of communication between guests, Servers, Dining Room Manager, and Kitchen.

  • Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.

  • Maintains good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the property.

  • Assists with other responsibilities as requested.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a barista or restaurant position preferred.

  • Hospitality POS (Aloha) systems experience desirable.

  • Must have good table service skills.

  • Must have knowledge of register accounting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required.

  • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.

  • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.

  • Able to handle guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts.

  • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits.

  • Non-smoking environment

  • Restaurant/Dining/Bar, Hotel setting.

  • Job requires constant walking, bending, the frequent use of stairs, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs., and repetitive motions.

  • Position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, split shifts, etc.
